This Back-To-School Kid-Friendly Slider Recipe is a great way to start the school year. These easy mini roast beef sliders fit perfectly in their lunch boxes along with veggies, fruit, Danimals® Smoothie Drinks Strawberry Explosion, and Mini OREO® Cookies as a special treat.
My two boys like to assist me when preparing their lunches for school. First thing’s first in the kitchen, and that’s clean hands! I’m confident the Kleenex® Wet Wipes Gentle Clean do the job before and after our lunch prep.

Slider Recipe Set Up
Quick Prep:
This recipe is quick to prepare. Gather all the ingredients and prep by washing, the veggies and cutting them. Peel the clementine, place the cookies into the lunch box, and have the slider ingredients ready to assemble.
Easy Assembly:
Once you have all the ingredients ready and prepped, you can pack the lunch box. Start by layering the sliders with the mayo, tomato, and roast beef. Then add all the ingredients into the compartments.
For the best kitchen experience, I typically assign them separate jobs when making the lunches. For example, my 9-year-old, Brody, gets to cut the bell peppers, tomatoes, and broccoli. And my 7-year-old, Landon, is assigned the job of making the sliders.
Landon starts with the slider bun and adds a dab of mayonnaise, a sliced tomato, and a couple slices of roast beef. It’s that easy!
I feel having the kids as helpers creates confidence for them in the kitchen and puts them on the road to independence.
For this Back-To-School Kid-Friendly Slider Recipe, we’ve included:
-
- roast beef sliders
- 2 mini slider rolls
- 4 slices deli roast beef (2 oz.)
- 1 tsp. mayo
- 2 tomato slices
- 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers and broccoli
- a juicy clementine
- Mini OREO® Cookies
- Danimals® Smoothie Drinks Strawberry Explosion
They both have their own unique lunch routine. Brody enjoys his entire lunch at lunchtime. On the other hand, Landon will sneak a slider and the Danimals® Smoothie Drinks Strawberry Explosion for a snack and eat the rest at lunchtime.
With this yummy lunch variety, rest assured an EMPTY lunch box will return home.
Sometimes, I even add a little extra fun with a love note, a special sweet treat, or make little fruit cut-outs with food cutters or even a cute little bug inspired by the lunch of the day. For instance, this fluttering butterfly has wings made from the broccoli leaves and the body is made from a tiny slice of the bell pepper.
If you decide to make this cute butterfly, place a piece of plastic wrap over it to keep it in place. I’m positive it will put a smile on your little one’s face.
Where To Shop
One of my favorite reasons for making this lunch is the shopping experience. I was able to get all the ingredients at Target. Yes, Target! I went easily from the produce section to the refrigerated section, then to the snack aisles to get all the items needed for the wide variety of NABISCO Multipacks that make lunches easy. On my way out, I made a quick stop in household essentials to pick up the Kleenex® Wet Wipes Gentle Clean. Easy peasy!!!
I feel like we’ve covered all the bases in this Back-To-School Kid-Friendly Slider Recipe and lucky for us, we only had to make one stop at Target for all the ingredients.
