The kids had a blast making this Homemade Halloween Candy!
Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. In fact, the kids can hardly contain themselves asking me over and over again, “how many days until Halloween, and can we decorate.” This usually starts in the beginning of September. I have to admit, the ideas for creativity around Halloween are endless. I can think of hundreds of treats to make, and the kids of course love it. They had a blast making these Homemade Halloween Candy pumpkins, and I loved it because it was easy. Just melt the chocolate, and candy melts, fill the molds, then put on a happy or scary face.
After we made these, I stashed some away in the freezer. Lucky for me they lasted for several months hidden away. I would grab one whenever I had a sweet tooth.
All you need to make this recipe is:
- pumpkin molds
- candy melts
- milk or dark chocolate
- black candy writer
- and a party 🙂

I used dark chocolate for this recipe, because I liked the contrast with the orange. Also, I felt it was a better balance with the sweet candy melts. The kids tend to like milk chocolate over the dark chocolate, because it tastes creamier, and sweeter. The dark chocolate tends to be a bit bitter, but this also depends on the brand and percentage of dark chocolate.
These little Jack-O-Lanterns are so easy to make, and really impressive. Homemade Halloween Candy makes a great kids Halloween activity. We had a fun candy making party with a few of the kids friends. I heard a lot of finger licking, and laughing. Lol! No matter how much you say no licking your fingers, they’re going to do it anyway.
