How To Make Creepy Halloween Krispies Brains
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt the butter over low heat in a large pot.

Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter.

Stir until the marshmallows are melted.
Add a few drops of red food coloring (about 5 or less if you want a lighter color).

Stir the mixture until the red food coloring is fully incorporated into the melted marshmallow mixture.

Stir the cereal until it is fully coated.

Use an ice cream scoop to gather sticky rice krispie mixture and drop each spoonful onto the prepared baking tray.

Form the scooped mounds into ovals. Separate them slightly down the middle with the fat end of a butter knife to resemble a “brain”.

Add some red food coloring to a small bowl and use a fine paintbrush to paint “veins” onto the brains. Repeat this for all the Halloween brain rice crispies!

Storage Instructions for Rice Krispie Brains
To keep your brain rice crispy treats fresh and spooky, follow these simple storage tips:
Room Temperature
Store these rice krispie brains at room temperature in a single layer in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Line the container with a sheet of parchment paper to prevent sticking.
In The Fridge
While you could technically refrigerate these DIY Halloween rice crispy treats, I don’t recommend it. The fridge will harden these Halloween treats, making them difficult to chew.
Freezing is not advisable!
