Grilled Peaches and Cream are simply amazing!!
We love Grilled Peaches and Cream! I could just stop right there, the name says it all. This has to be the easiest, most delicious, most impressive dessert to make. The kids went CRAZY for this. Brody threw his own twist on this, and added some sprinkles which made them look beautiful. If you need a quick dessert, and you happen to be grilling, this is the best!
What I’ve discovered with this simple recipe is that it’s all about the peaches. You want them to be firm yet are a little soft if you lightly squeeze them, and the seed should come out easily. If the seed sticks inside the fruit, then it starts to mush the peach as you’re trying to get the seed out. I had to learn this the hard way, and what I found out is not all peaches are alike. Although you can use any peaches, I found the best ones are the freestone, as the pit almost falls right out. If you use any other type of peaches, just carefully scoop out the pit.

When I went to the grocery store to pick up some peaches, I spoke with the produce professional in detail about the peaches. He cut the peaches open, and showed me the difference between the freestone, and clingstone peaches. First, he sliced around the freestone peach and gave it a slight twist, then opened it, and the pit had already lifted out. On the other hand, the clingstone peach was not as easy to pull apart, and the flesh was clinging to the pit. I was wowed by his demo, considering I just demolished a few peaches trying to get the pit out. LOL!
The issue I found with purchasing them is they don’t always label the peaches as freestone or clingstone in the markets (maybe at the farmer’s market). So, my suggestion is when you head over to the market to get the peaches for this recipe, ask the produce professional for the freestone peaches. Also, ask them to cut the peaches open so you can see the difference. This is also a great way to sample the peaches. Yum!
I love that Brody added in his kid expertise opinion with the sprinkles. It has a colorful playfulness to an sophisticated looking dessert.
If you already have the grill fired up, then the Grilled Peaches and Cream recipe goes great with the Grilled Steak Fajitas!
